Lace and Doily flowers

Hi everyone,  I thought i'd let you see some lace and doily flowers I've made.  They can be used as decorations on home décor or a pin can be added for use as a brooch or hairpin.  They are so pretty and very addictive.

Lace and Doily Sewing book

Hi everyone, A bit of a gloomy day today so I thought I'd put this up for you to see.  It's a sewing "book" with padded pages to put your needles and pins etc in.  There are sections for scissors and tape measure along with threads and doily pocket for buttons.

Floating Teacups

Moring all,

Here are a couple of little projects I've made for  friends to say thankyou for everything they've done for me when I came out of hospital after my knee operation.  It's a floating teacup.  I saw this on Pinterest when searching for things to do when I was stuck in the house resting after the op.  I thought it was fabulous and dug deeper into how it was made.  Once I was up and moving again I set about making it.  They loved it and was amazed how the cup could look like it was floating and wondered how it was done.  I said it was magic and just laughed.  I cant tell my secrets can I lol.

Tonic Vine Oval die

Hello everyone. Here's my card for today.  I thought i'd show you that the Tonic die can be used in different ways as well as the way it was designed for.
I cut out the Tonic 'Elegant vine oval' out of white card and then cut out the outer edge part of the die in blue glitter card and matted the white on top.  I cut out 2 sizes of the Spellbinders Grand Squares and matted them onto silver satin card. I cut out an Ivy corner and cut it in half. I stamped out the 'Candi' stamp from Craftwork Cards and cut it out with Spellbinders die.  I then coloured it in with Spectrum Noirs. I then added 'Craftwork' candi and also some gems to some of the circles. I matted and layered all the pieces on to the card blank and then added some flowers bought from Wild orchid Crafts.

Thanks for looking. Plese feel free to comment, your comments are always welcome.  xx

Craftwork 'Embellish me' toppers

Good morning everyone. Here's quite a simple card but I think very pretty.  I started by cutting out 2 different sizes of Spellbinders Grand Squares and matted them onto gold card.  I then cut out 2 Spellbinders ornate squares and layered them on to the matts.  I added then a one of the "embellish me" toppers and added the Crfatwork candi onto the circles of the topper and also some dew drop gems.  Last I cut out 4 Marianne die Ivy corners and stuck them to the corners of the matt.  I haven't added an embellishment as 2 frieds of mine saw the card and are now fighting over it lol.  I suppose i'd better get cracking and make another.

Have a lovely Sunday my friends.  Please fell free to comment, I value your opinions. x

21st Birthday

Good Morning all. I made this for a friends daughter. The background was created with my Gelli plate which i tried out the other day making backgrounds. So cool, loved it.
I bought a load of cardboard embellishments from create and craft and so glad i did as they came in handy for the numbers. All I did was put some gilding flakes on.

The Square matts were cut out with my Spellbinders grand squares.  Love these dies as now my matting and layering is always perfect.

The topper matts were cut out in glitter card and ivory card with the Go Kreate Barge frame dies.  I embossed the ivory one with the Darice happy birthday embossing folder.

I added some gorgeous flowers I bought from Wild Orchid crafts online.  They have such a beautiful selection of flowers at reasonable prices.  To finish off i added some flat back pearls to the corners.
Not quite sure if the card needs something else. Or should I just leave it alone.   I sometimes don't know when to stop lol

Have a great weekend xx

Framing the topper

Hello everyone.  This is another of the toppers from Kanban  I bought a while ago.  I decided to build a frame around.

First of all i matted and layered white and blue card.  The top white matt i first cut out the aperture and then ran it through the  Sue Wilson seagarden embossing folder.   I then cut out a frame with two Spellbinder labels 22 dies.
I placed the topper underneath the aperture and then added some ribbon around the white matt then stuck down the matt onto the the other matts  I added a die cut swirl, some flowers and a sentiment.

Tonic versus Spellbinder

Hello there,
I just purchased the new tonic die which came with various Christmas tags to go with it. I decided to use it differently and not use the tag to show you dont have to use it the way it was intended.
I first cut out the tonic square .  I bcaked it off with glitter crad and cut out the bottom with a Spellbinder bracket die.  I also used the die to cut out some co-ordinating card.
I stamped and coloured the topper and cut it out with my Spellbinders   Labels 22 die and cut out the cordinating  card with the decorative labels 22 die.
I added a bow and brad and also some small butterflies made with the Martha Stewart clay.

Spellbinder card

Hi everyone,  sorry I haven't posted for a while but i've not been in good health. Unfortunately my Arthritis has been playing up and i've not been able to sit and craft due to pain.
anyway I'm not too bad now and decided to go into my craft room and make a card using the Spellbinder 'Just swinging' die.

First of all I cut a piece of cream card and embossed it with my Sue Wilson embossing folder.  I matted it onto gold card and fixed it onto my base card.
I cut out the just swinging die but not fully so it was the design was left in the card. I mounted it with foame pads onto a piece of patterned paper and glued it to the embossed background.
I added a bow, die cut fir tree sprig, flowers sprig and a beaded dangler pendant then cut out an embossed sentiment with my tag die and added a co-ordinating piece of ribbon..
I added gold stickles to the tree as berries.

Notebook cover

I received a notebook for Christmas with the most beautiful cover and I thought it would be great to make these as pressies myself.  So i made the template myself and cut it out of stiff card.  I glued the notebook in place and added a velcro dot onto the inside of the flaps.  This was just a tester to see if my template worked.  I will embellish the proper ones more i think.

Manequin jewellery stand

My first attempt at decopage or now known as decopatch.  This is still work in progress but wanted to share.  The manequin has been covered in Gesso then torn pages from a book decopatched onto it.

I then glued through a stencil on the bottom and added gilding flakes.

I added a tassel trim to the bottom and trim round the waist and neckline with paper roses to add as another embellishment to the waist.  I glued old spools to the arms and an old doorknob to the top.

I now think I should've added a thin coat of gesso over the bookpages but too late now.  I have to paint the doorknob too.

Tea light gift card

My first attempt at making one of these.  I sat down with my computer and the Crafter's Companion DVD and followed Sara's instructions.  The only thing I didn't have was some acetate to put in the aperture so i used one of my Cello bags.  Will have to buy some now so I can make a load of these as pressies for people for Christmas..  lol  Yeah thinking about Christmas already lol.

Mixed Media canvas

Well here it is, my first attempt at a mixed media canvas.  What a laugh I had making it with a friend who made one too.  I'm sorry it's a little child like but I think I started too big making this large canvas.

I used Mod Podge to stick all the elements on, what a fab product it is.  It stuck the wood, moss, flowers, tissue paper, clay dragonflies and lace on no problem.

Sentiment focal point.

Hello everyone.  Today's card is created with a few more spellbinder dies and creative expressions stamp.

First i cut the frame out of my piece of card and then put it in my A4 embossing folder.

I stamped out the frame with my creative expressions stamp and then cut it out with the corresponding die.  I stamped out a sentiment and cut it out with a smaller die and then used my distress inks round the edges while still in the die.

I cut out some aster flowers and leaves in white and coloured card and layered the flowers up and glued together.

Now for assembly.  I first placed the stamped frame down onto my base card.  I put foam tape onto the backing card and wrapped some ribbon round before sticking the card down onto the base card.  I stuck the  sentiment down over the frame  with foam tape. and then stuck the flower and leaves on. To finish off I added a ribbon bow and some gems in each corner of the card.

Thank you for taking time to look at my blog and please feel free to comment.

Spellbinders

Spellbinders dies make the most beautiful cards. I am not a professional by any means, infact i'm a relative newbie and still learning.  Here I have created a card with the Adourning squares.  I cut two out in white card.  My background card I first cut out the square shape and then embossed with a spellbinder A4 folder (can't remember the name).  I cut a piece of purple and teal printed backing paper from Kanban to go in the recess of the aperture cut out and stuck it onto the base card.  I cut out a strip of the Kanban card and punched it out with a tonic border punch and stick it to the card.  I added foam tape onto the embossed card and wrapped some ribbon around it and then stuck it to the base card.  I put foam tape to the back of the two adourning square die cuts and placed them onto the card over the aperture. I cut out the smallest of the Adourning squares and staped a sentiment onto the centre.

I cut out some Spellbinder aster flowers in white card and the Kanban card and layered them up to make one big flower.  I added a small pearl to the centre.  I cut out 3 leaves from the Asters set and stuck them onto the card and the the flower on top. I added two stick pins to decorate.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Please feel free to  comment.  Thank you xx

Grunge cards

Hello there fellow crafter's.  I decided to go out of my comfort zone and make some grunge cards.  Not my usual 'pretty' cards but enjoyed doing them.  I created the backgrounds by putting some different colour distress inks onto my glass cutting mat and spritzing with a little bit of water. I swooshed 2 pieces of card through to give a grungy coloured background.

The first card I used my crackle background stamp on the top section of the card and my Visable Image grunge flourish stamp at the bottom.  On the other piece of card i'd coloured I cut out some Spellbinder Aster flowers.  I also cit out some flowers using an old book page which I stippled on some distress ink and.I also stamped some butterlfies onto the page with my small Visable Image butterfly stamp and cut them out.  I stamped out the Visable Image 'Live Your dreams' stamp onto red card and cut it out and put some 3d foam pads on the back and assembled all the elements.

My 2nd card I created the background colour as the 1st and then just stamped the flourish on the bottom.  I stamped the butterflies out of a 2nd grungy background i made and cut them out. I stamped the wording straight onto the card.  I then took some small strips of card and rolled them up to created a spiral and stuck then down with cosmic shimmer glue. and added the butterflies.

Hope you like them.  Thank you for visitng my blog and please feel free to comment.
Thank you.

Masking

I tried masking off when stamping today for the first time. Of course silly me thought i would be clever and do double stamping too.  Never mind it turned out sort of ok.  I used Visible Image stamps for this project.

First i stamped my sentiment and cut it out with my spellbinder die.  I then put a very small piece of double sided tape on the back and positioned it in the centre of my base layer.  I then stamped my rose out onto a post it note at the top where the sticky part is and cut it out through 2 pieces.  This is my mask.

Now I stamped over the top of the sentiment and base layer.  I then put the mask over the top of the stamped image and stamped again to the side of the  first image. when peeling off the mask the 2nd one looks like it's at the back of the fist image.  I repeated this all the way round till i only had room for one more stamp.  I then placed masks on either side of where i was going to stamp and then stamped.

I then cut out another gold mirror board layer and glued the base layer on top,.  I added foam tape to the back of the sentiment and aligned it over the base layer.

Now this is what i did wrong. I should've put silicone on instead of foam tape as once you put it down that's it and you cannot move it and i noticed it wasn't quite lined up.  Anyway you learn by your mistakes.  I know people don't show their mistakes but i think it's a way of showing learners what not to do.

I then stamped butterflies out and stippled distress inks with my Inkylicious Ink Dusters.  I cut them out and shaped them with my bone folder and stuck them with glue gel.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Please feel free to comment. x

Classic

Hi everyone here is today's card made with my new Visable Image stamps.

This is my second entry in the 'Get stamping with Visible Image' competition.  Click here to see their blog

I started by using the crackle stamp on a piece of white card. I used 2 Tim Holtz distress inks and then used my Inkylicious Ink duster to stippled ink all over the card. I cut the corners out with my Woodware reverse corner punch.  I then wrapped some brown ribbon round the crad and matted it onto the card blank.

I then stamped out the car topper twice on a piece of white card and cut one out with my spellbinder rectangle die .  While the card topper was in the die i stippled round with my ink duster and and cut round the car on the other stamped image with my scissors  I cut out another rectangle next size up in brown card and matter the car topper onto it.

I stamped my Classic sentiment out and cut it out with my Nellie snellen die and then once again inked it whilst still in the die.

I matted them all on the card with glue gel to give dimension and decoupaged the car cut out onto the topper.

Thanks for coming to by blog.  Please feel free to comment.

Visible Image 'Get Stamping' challenge

Below is my entry to the Visible Image 'Get Stamping with Visible Image' challenge
Click here to see their blog   I've never entered a competition before but someone on Facebook said I should enter the card from my previous post. Well I couldn't enter that one because it wasn't stamped properly and it didn't have the Visible Image sentiment.  So i remade the card and added the Visible Image sentiment stamp.  I also added foam pads to each layer to add dimension.  It's a very basic card but i'm a newbie at stamping and am quite proud of this one.
